Germany Close Up - American Jews Meet Modern Germany

Programs

During 7 to 14 days of program, participants will encounter Berlin’s multicultural life, the Jewish Museum in Berlin, the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, as well as experience other key historical sites, cultural venues, and places outside of Berlin. They will meet with German contemporaries and opinion-makers, grass root movements, faculty and students of the Humboldt University Berlin, and the Jewish community. The role of Jewish voices in transatlantic relations will be explored as participants actively contribute to German-American dialogue.

Programs fall under one of two categories: (1) Open application, and (2) partner organization groups.

(1) “Open application” are programs for which students, young professionals, rabbinical, journalists and/or others may apply individually.

(2) “Partner organization groups” are programs conducted in cooperation with various organizations representing all facets of Jewish life. Jewish organizations interested in cooperating with us to organize such a group program are encouraged to contact us for further information.

An important note would be that observing Kosher and the Sabbath are no hindrances for participation.
